Located only eight kilometres (5 miles) from the Von Lindequist Gate on the eastern outskirts of Etosha National Park, Mushara Lodge is ideally situated for travellers visiting the Park.
Thatched guest areas consist of a small library, bar with an extensive wine cellar, airy lounge with welcoming fireplace, dining area and well-stocked curio shop. During the summer months meals are enjoyed on the covered terrace.
There is a large swimming pool surrounded by green lawn that is kept well manicured by visiting kudu. Mushara comprises ten well-spaced thatched chalets and two exquisite villas. Each spacious chalet features air-conditioning, mosquito net, mini-bar fridge, tea/coffee-making facilities, electric lights, direct dial telephone, wardrobe and luggage rack. Bathrooms are en suite (some with shower and others with bath and shower) with separate w.c. The décor is an eclectic blend of traditional African and modern art works combined with original paintings. At Mushara, emphasis is on friendly and personalised service accompanied by innovative dining. The only meal served buffet style is breakfast with a choice of continental or cooked English-style fare. All other meals are served on a set-menu basis and are accompanied by a choice of excellent South African wines.
The main attraction of Mushara is its proximity to Etosha National Park with its diversity of wildlife. Game drives into the Park can be pre-booked for guests on a fly-in safari. There are two well-marked hiking trails on the Mushara game farm which are ideal for guests wanting to stretch their legs.
