The elephant camp has not been fenced and therefore visitors to Gorah are warned to stay within the confines of the tent and deck area. Walking outside the confines of the camp will put you at risk of dangerous game and negatively affect the experience of other visitors
For summer (September – March), cool comfortable clothing is recommended along with sunhats and sun protection cream while for the winter and autumn months (April – August), warm layered clothing is recommended for the colder night times. Insect repellant is recommended, especially in summer. No immunizations are needed for travel to this park. The park is situated in a malaria-free area.
This region's climate is pleasantly temperate.
A warm to hot summer extends from October right through to April. In mid-summer the days are gloriously long with the sun setting around seven-thirty in the evening and sunrise around five thirty am. Days of sunshine are plentiful at gorah. Winter days are generally chilly at night and early morning.
