Safari Houses
~ Tangala House ~
For the ultimate family holiday, why not take the children on safari in Zambia and stay at a luxurious private home on the banks of the Zambezi River. Tangala House, located just 10 miles upstream of Victoria Falls, sleeps eight in comfort and comes fully-staffed. It has its own private swimming pool, dining terrace and lawned garden. Overlooking the magnificent Zambezi River, the house enjoys spectacular sunsets across the river and views of large herds of elephants on the opposite bank. Hippos can be seen and heard in abundance and more than 145 species of birds have been spotted from the kitchen window.
Beautifully furnished, Tangala has been specifically designed with families in mind. The house has four bedrooms, three of them ensuite, with a spacious kitchen-diner, a children's playroom and a living room that opens onto a superb thatched verandah. All the windows can be closed to keep out insects. Tangala offers all the comforts of a luxury modern home, including a fully-fitted kitchen, a huge dining table, satellite TV, video, hifi and a Jetmaster fireplace. Most rooms have high thatch ceilings and the large dining area has a 15ft window with a stunning view over the Zambezi.
The master bedroom overlooks the Zambezi and has a king-size teak bed, sofa, sitting area and a bathroom with shower and large double bath. The second bedroom also faces the river and has a queen-size four poster bed with a walk-in bath and shower. The third bedroom has a king-size teak bed with a large en suite double bath and shower, while the fourth has twin beds and a bathroom across a passageway.
The house has 250 yards of prime waterfront and no adjoining properties, so you feel utterly secluded and private. The 11m x 5m pool has a shallow area for young children and the large verandah opens out onto a lawn with a picnic table fashioned from railway sleepers.

Tangala comes with a house assistant, who will help with cooking, housekeeping and laundry, plus two groundsmen and three friendly dogs. Tangala has no minimum age and is open all year round.
