Tintswalo Atlantic - Activities

Guests may choose to explore the Cape surrounds or the Winelands. They may also choose to enjoy lunch on the Tintswalo Atlantic deck, or share cooking tips with the executive chef in the open-plan kitchen before an intimate dinner, watching the sun set behind the Sentinel.

Tintswalo Atlantic's accommodation is on a bed and breakfast basis and both lunch and dinner should be booked in advance, as this is prepared in accordance with guests' personal culinary preferences.

A massage therapist can be arranged for private treatments in the comfort of the suites.

The surrounding mountain reserve has a multitude of paths and walkways for visitors to enjoy. Guests may also wander along the pebbled beach (the nearest sandy beach is in Hout Bay)

A few suggested excursions are listed below:

  • Absorb the atmosphere at the busy working harbour of Hout Bay. During the week one can watch fishing trawlers and crayfish boats unload their catches.
  • Take a boat trip to Seal Island, a tiny island behind the Sentinel, which is densely populated by some 6000 seals.
  • Explore Table Mountain National Park on foot - there are numerous walks and hiking trails.
  • Spend the day exploring the nearby Constantia Winelands, birthplace to the wine farming industry in Cape Town.
  • Indulge in a spot of retail therapy at the V & A Waterfront, or at one of the other renowned shopping districts.
  • Visit the many attractions that the city of Cape Town offers.
  • Go on a Cape Peninsular day excursion.
  • A big attraction in Hout Bay is the World of Birds. This is the largest bird park in Africa and one of the few large bird parks in the world. Over 3 000 birds (and small animals) of 400 different species are uniquely presented in more than 100 spacious landscaped walk through aviaries.
  • For the more adventurous there’s sea kayaking

Facilities
The Tintswalo Atlantic communal areas have been built predominantly from wood and glass to blend harmoniously with the natural and staggeringly beautiful surrounds. Facilities include a lounge, bar, small wine cellar, dining room, and interactive kitchen. The common element shared by all are the breathtaking views of the sea and mountains. From the long wooden deck with its heated Jacuzzi pool and comfortable loungers, one has a feeling of being suspended over the ocean.

The décor and furnishings complement the beauty of the setting. A colour palette of blue, green, aquamarine, brown and silver reflects the ever changing moods of the ocean. Deep sofas, comfy chairs and ottomans, pewter tables and stools, rich wooden floors, crystal chandeliers, wonderfully tactile fabrics together with displays of coral, shells, driftwood and bowls of Proteas complete the ambience of unparalleled elegance and discreet comfort.
