Situated in the northern region of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve lies a spectacular amphitheatre. In the basin, surrounded by rocky spires carved by ancient elephant paths and underground springs, lies the site of an exclusive private game lodge. Ivory Tree Game Lodge represents an exciting lodge addition to the incentive market. Carefully designed and positioned, the lodge also ensures exclusivity for individual guests.
The site was carefully selected with three main objectives in mind, they are to occupy an area of the park that does not enjoy high visitor numbers, a site which commands attractive views of the characteristic mountain forms and lastly it must easily be accessible to guests.
Qualified rangers interpret this magnificent reserve during morning and evening game drives. |

Each of the sixty suites are air-conditioned with full ensuite facilities and outdoor shower, tea and coffee making facilities. The central facility has been positioned to enjoy picturesque views through double volume, deep-thatch roofs of the surrounding amphitheatre. The lodge facilities include lounges, bar, dining room, curio shop, feature rock pool and boma.
Decorated in a range of earthy tones ranging from terra cottas to deep blues, the rooms have been carefully co-ordinated to ensure comfortable seating both indoors and out. The standard configuration includes two twin beds and a limited number of rooms have a king size bed. It is also possible to introduce a third bed into the room in the event that a child / children wish to share with parents.

Most of our guests are at Ivory Tree for the thrill of the open vehicle safari. Ivory Tree uses custom built 10 seater open game viewers which permit maximum all around visibility. The park is home to a wide variety of general game including the Big 5, in addition both species of rhino occur, namely black and white, and cheetah and wild dog. Each group of guests is assigned a personal guide who is tasked with interpreting the sights and sounds of the African bush. Your guide will spend time with you at dinners aswell and is always around to ensure that you remain comfortable during your stay with us.

Ivory Tree has included a dedicated conference room among its facilities
These facilities provide for a maximum of 80 delegates. During conferences and Incentives at our lodges we are frequently approached by groups enquiring about participation in conservation exercises.
This idea prompted us to integrate conservation with the guest experience. In short we are now able to involve guests in the process of routine data gathering to determine condition and genetic mapping amongst other things.

Situated in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, access to the lodge is either by road or by air from Johannesburg. The reserve is approximately 2 hours drive from Johannesburg. Guests would route via Hartebeestpoort before proceeding west along the clearly marked route. The lodge is accessed via Bakgatla Gate. Road transfers are available from most areas in Gauteng.
