Greystoke is located in southwest Tanzania in the Mahale Mountains National Park where tropical mountains rise from the pale sand beaches of Lake Tanganyika.
Waterfalls tumble down to the shoreline through fast valleys providing spectacular hiking terrain. Amongst many other mammals, a thousand wild chimpanzees live in this rich habitat with over 90 species of fish swimming in the clear waters of the lake.
Accommodation is in six double tents with a forest bathroom for showers under the palms. Dinners are laid on the beach under the stars, on the mahogany dhow by flaming torch or in the Mess – a timbered Tongwe chiefs hut. Activities include chimpanzee tracking, forest walks, dhow trips on Lake Tanganyika, snorkelling and fishing.
