Swala Camp is nestled in a beautiful, acacia forest enclave at the edge of the gently rolling savanna in the southwest corner of the Tarangire National Park.

Each of the nine private, permanent tents features en suite bathrooms with showers and terraces overlooking the bush and the Gurusi swamps. Tarangire is believed to have some of the largest elephant herds in Africa, as well as more than 300 species of breeding birds.

Swala is the only camp in this section of the National Park, affording guests private game-viewing opportunities in open four-wheel drive vehicles with expert guides. For an intimate and interactive introduction to the local culture, additional excursions to a nearby local village school, funded by the Camp, are available.
