XUGANA ISLAND LODGE
Stilted chalets on the water's edge
Overlooking Xugana Lagoon
Beautiful Okavango Delta
Canoeing, boating & fishing
Xugana Island Lodge is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, nestling under a canopy of wild ebony and garcina trees facing onto the tranquil blue waters of Xugana Lagoon.
Xugana reflects the timeless pace of a bygone Africa, when the San (Bushman) would drink from the promised waters of the Xugana Lagoon after a long and tiring hunt. Xugana, meaning "kneel down to drink", is a 16-bedded lodge with reed and thatch en suite chalets built on stilts near the water's edge.
Activities include birding, seasonal fishing, boating, short mekoro (canoe) excursions and island walks accompanied by highly qualified and experienced guides. For the less energetic there is a swimming pool submerged in the reeds on the banks of the lagoon.
