10 Day Flying Safari ( Saturday Departure)

DAY 1 MACUSHLA HOUSE, Nairobi

Transfer from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the rustic charm and modern comforts of this delightful hotel, set in the forested outskirts of Nairobi. Relax by the swimming pool and enjoy the sunshine, or perhaps visit the neighbouring Giraffe Sanctuary.

DAY 2 ELSA’S KOPJE, Meru National Park

You will be collected at 06:30 and transferred to Wilson Airport to catch the 07:45 am Air Kenya scheduled flight

to Meru National Park. On arrival at 08:45 am, you will be met by a driver-guide and taken to the lodge. Made famous by the film “Born Free” and George Adamson’s lions, the lodge and its 9 cottages are invisible to the eye as you approach the kopje.

Settle in and relax by the swimming pool before lunch. After an early afternoon siesta at the poolside or on your own panoramic veranda, enjoy an extended afternoon game drive.

DAY 3 ELSA’S KOPJE

Take an early morning guided walk in the bush to work up your appetite or take an extended game drive with picnic breakfast to explore the many rivers transecting the park. We may come across basking Hippo’s and Crocodiles. Return to lodge for lunch. Late afternoon sundowners in the park before a dusk game drive home.

DAY 4 ELSA’S KOPJE

The untamed wilderness of Meru National Park is renowned for its Elephant herds, rare northern endemic species with fantastic flora and changing terrain. We can also search for big cats and the elusive Rhino’s.

DAY 5 SAMBURU INTREPIDS, Samburu National Reserve

Depart on the Air Kenya scheduled flight at 08:45. On arrival at Samburu airstrip your driver/guide will meet you and transfer you to camp. After lunch take a late afternoon game drive, returning to camp for dinner. The camp is set in the ravine forests on the life sustaining Ewaso Nyiro River and guests can watch the wildlife drink at dawn and dusk from their own tents.

DAY 6 SAMBURU INTREPIDS

Spend the day exploring this savagely beautiful, arid ecosystem. Famous also for its endemic species like Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Oryx and Gerenuk, the river is an arterial lifeline for the abundant wildlife.

DAY 7 ELEPHANT PEPPER CAMP, Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast transfer to the airstrip to catch the 09:15 Air Kenya flight to the Masai Mara. Your driver / guide will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to camp with game viewing enroute. Relax and soak up the sights and sounds of the bush in the world’s most spectacular wildlife region. After lunch and a siesta take a late afternoon game drive or an accompanied walk with our professional guides.

DAY 8 ELEPHANT PEPPER CAMP

The daily ritual of game tracking on foot or from a vehicle is addictive. The light here is superb and the views are stunning. Spend your days exploring the wilderness, watching and listening. Bush breakfast, sundowners and evenings by the campfire after dinner, lit by soft lanterns, make this a magical experience.

DAY 9 ELEPHANT PEPPER CAMP

Elephant Pepper Camp is idyllically set in an indigenous forest area off the beaten track and the 8 luxury en-suite tents are surrounded by the Mara’s prolific wildlife. The day will be spent exploring the Mara on game drives.

DAY 10 DEPARTURE

After a last game drive in the Masai Mara, catch the 11:00 Air Kenya flight back to Nairobi. A Cheli & Peacock driver will transfer you to your Nairobi hotel or to the international airport for your journey home.
