Activities at Fundu Lagoon

The natural surroundings of Pemba are spectacular and the island has a rich cultural history…

Fundu Lagoon is surrounded by some of the world’s leading dive sites. The resort has a fully equipped dive centre offering a fleet of boats and the marine life is exciting even when snorkeling. Fundu Lagoon even has its own 30 foot catamaran available for charter.

The nearby mangroves are also easy to explore by canoe. Sunset cruises by dhow are a romantic way to take in the surrounding beaches and islands.

For the ultimate in lazy relaxation, visit Fundu Lagoon’s Spa for massage and beauty treatments. Within the resorts main building there is a games room with pool table, darts, TV, board games and a library of movies and books.

Snorkelling & Diving

The ocean that surrounds Pemba features some of the best snorkeling and diving sites in the world…

Shollow coral lagoons drop off to spectacular depths supporting a vast range of marine life.

Fundu Lagoon’s dedicated dive centre, Dive 710 is committed to sharing the thrill and excitement of Pemba’s rich diving diversity as well as conserving the natural marine life in the area. Dive 710 is staffed by an experienced team that has vast local knowledge about the area and our powerful dive boats ensure that all the sites of Pemba are available within easy reach.

The shallow coral reefs are ideal for snorkeling if you have yet to qualify for diving.

Sailing

Our thirty foot catamaran ‘Solkattan’ is exclusively available for charter by our guests at Fundu Lagoon…

Day charters allow you to discover the secluded beaches of Pemba in style. Stop off to snorkel the unspoilt reefs and drop-offs, where you might see turtles grazing and a vivid array for small reef fish.

Trips depart in the morning and a barbeque lunch is provided onboard before returning back to Fundu at sunset.

Try fishing for Tuna or Kingfish to add to the succulent seafood barbeque lunch. Learn to sail with Fundu’s qualified skipper and crew = or just relax on deck and keep an eye out for spinner dolphins or humpback whales.
