Mozambique, often described as the unknown pearl of Africa, has 2500 km of white beaches, vast areas of untouched bush land and huge mangrove forests whereby the northern provinces of Cabo Delgado and Niassa are renowned for the Niassa Game Reserve and the Quirimbas National Park.
The Quirimbas offer untouched bush on the mainland and a beautiful archipelago of tiny bounty islands, including the ghost town Ibo Island, all north of Pemba, capital of Cabo Delgado. It is here, just north of Pemba, where Londo Lodge is situated; at the southern point of the Quirimbas National Park where true bush meets virgin beach.
The area around Pemba offers turquoise seas, palm-fringed beaches, excellent diving, game fishing and thrilling walking safaris. Pemba has a few high-end hotels, beach resorts, a casino, an international airport and proper medical facilities. Up to now tourism has not made a serious impact yet which gives the visiting tourists a true feeling of exclusivity, privacy and adventure in an untouched part of east Africa.
