A mere three hour scenic drive from Durban International Airport, just 100km from Richards Bay Airport, you can enjoy the true African experience and impeccable service offered by Falaza Game Park and Spa. Neighbouring the World Heritage Site of St Lucia, Falaza is near the renowned Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, boasting the ‘Big Five’, and the fascinating corals of Sodwana Bay. Close to Hluhluwe in the heart of Zululand, Falaza Game Park occupies 800 hectares rich with indigenous fauna and flora.
Falaza is aptly named after a war veteran of King Cetshwayo's Zulu Impi (1873-1883), who over a century ago, fought against the British forces at the famous battle of Isandhlwana. His village, built on the fertile banks of the Mzinene river, was known by the early hunters as Dugandlovu - "the place where the elephants get lost". Falaza, a privately owned game park, protects the remnants of this once mighty sand forest. Numerous species of animals have been reintroduced to Falaza which borders onto the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park.
