Kalahari Gemsbok National Park 8 Day Safari

Day 1

Depart Johannesburg early am (07h00) to Kuruman, visit Moffats Mission camp at the eye.

Day 2

Drive to Twee Rivieren. Arrive by sunset to freshen up with a long shower or a dip in the pool. Sundowners as the sun sets over the beautiful desert.

Day 3

After breakfast we head out to Nossob Camp. We drive along the Nossob River bed enjoying a slow scenic game drive. Once at Nossob we set up camp. Dinner is enjoyed around the campfire where we marvel at the sound of night life.

Day 4

We go in search of the illusive Kalahari Lion at sunrise. On return to the camp a hearty breakfast is enjoyed by all. Thereafter we have some private time to relax or take quite walks around the camp site. A late afternoon game drive ends a wonderful day.

Day 5

After breakfast we break up camp. We travel along the dune road to Mata Mata where we set up camp and prepare for another equisite evening.

Day 6

The day again starts off early with a game drive at sunrise - to allow you to observe nature as it too awakens. On our return to camp breakfast is again enjoyed in true Totally Extreme Adventures hospitality and flavour. A laxy day is spent exploring the camp site before taking a long afternoon game drive.

Day 7

After a light meal at Twee Rivieren we head down to Kuruman where we spend the night.

Day 8

Return to Johannesburg

The most stunning, basic and wild National Park in South Africa. The beauty of the Kalahari Gemsbok makes the long drive worth every minute. The blue sky contrasts in the stark environment - it looks so barren that nothing would appear to survive even a day - yet they do.

The Gemsbok, the most stunning and adapted African antelope, sprinkbok, cheetah, leopard, lion, wildebeest and jackal - just to name but a few of the larger animals. ground squirrels, mongoose, bird life unequaled. Not to mention the scenery.
