AAMS20 Tsavo West, Amboseli and Taita Hills – 3 Nights
Day 1 Mombasa – Tsavo West (LD)
This morning drive to Tsavo West, part of Kenya’s largest National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park. Tonight watch for wildlife as they come to the lodge’s floodlit waterhole.
Apart from the elephant population there are many lion - some undoubtedly the descendants of the famous Maneaters of Tsavo! Among the less common animals to be found are the fringed-eared oryx, the gerenuk and lesser kudu. The carnivores in addition to lion include serval, hyena, leopard, cheetah and caracal.
Overnight at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge.
Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge is superbly situated in the lee of Mount Kilimanjaro, encircled by volcanic splendour, adjacent to a teeming water hole.
Day 2 Tsavo West – Amboseli (BLD)
After breakfast drive to Amboseli, designated a National Park in 1977.
The Amboseli national park offers one of the most classic and breathtaking views of Kenya, the gigantic Kilimanjaro mountain, with its 5,985 m dominating the plains like a powerful god ruling the world from his silver throne. This park is renowned for its elephants, which may be seen in herds over 100 strong drinking from the surface springs. Big old bull elephants carry some of the largest tusks to be seen anywhere in Africa and is a renowned feature of this park.
Overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge.
Lying at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro and dotted with yellow barked Acacia trees and cream slate, Ol Tukai blends perfectly into the African savannah.
Day 3 Amboseli – Taita Hills (BLD)
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, continue to Taita Hills, a privately owned game sanctuary. Enjoy game viewing in the sanctuary this afternoon.
Once a private sisal plantation, Taita Hills is almost 170 sq. kms of lush forest, cascading waterfalls and abundant game. Your afternoon game drive might reveal buffalo, waterbuck, elephant and more.
Overnight at Salt Lick Safari Lodge.
Salt Lick Safari Lodge is located in the heart of the privately owned Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary at the foot of the Taita Hills, and consists of rooms elevated on stilts and linked by raised walkways.
Day 4 Taita Hills – Mombasa (B)
Return to Mombasa, arriving around midday. |
