Wild Frontiers, the Africa Travel Specialists, is an owner-run tour operator based in Johannesburg, with a subsidiary company in Uganda. The owners of Wild Frontiers have been travelling and leading tours in Africa since the early 1980's. Their personal relationships with many of the top operators in Africa date back to these days, which is important in this changing continent.

Wild Frontiers are members of SATOA (South Africa Tour Operators Association) a division of ASATA. SATOA is a member driven association of some of the biggest and best operators in the country, which maintains control over the quality of tours and, importantly, the financial performance of it's members. It is the only effective controlling body for travel in South Africa.

Growing from modest beginnings, this successful company employs a staff of knowledgeable, friendly consultants, each of whom has travelled extensively in Africa. This first hand knowledge and organisational ability in Africa has led to major magazines, film producers and companies making use of our services - Getaway Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller, Africa Environment and Wildlife, M-Net, Discovery Channel, National Geographic to name a few. We pride ourselves in being able to "make it happen" in Africa.

We offer a variety of options in Africa, a lot of which you'll find on this site, mainly the more popular safaris. Each of these safaris can be added to or modified to suit your budget, ability and interests - remember, it's your safari. Our job is to make it happen. So, if you've ever wanted to ride elephants, track gorillas, climb Kilimanjaro, Mt Kenya or the Mountains of the Moon, track chimpanzees, dive the coral cliffs of Pemba, mountain bike through Zanzibar, walk amongst the Big Five with a professional guide, view the migration of the wildebeest, float gently in a balloon above the great herds of Africa, raft or canoe the mighty Zambezi or Nile Rivers - or anything in Africa.
