Equus Horse Safaris
Equus, formed in 1989, is the longest established specialist horse safari company in South Africa. Located in the Lapalala Wilderness area in the Waterberg, world- renowned for successful black rhino conservation and environmental education. This private reserve encompasses over 35 000 hectares of pristine African bushveld. Bisected by rivers and gorges, the terrain is rocky and wild with sheer cliffs, high streams, mountain lookouts, shady valleys and grass-covered plains.
Equus Horse Safari's reputation is built on high standards of horsemanship, guiding, horses, catering and accommodation, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The safaris are based from a luxury tented bush camp - tents under thatch, with en suite bathroom, hot showers and flush toilets, private verandas, with tents well spaced apart. There is a natural rock pool to cool off in and a thatched central dining area and lounge with a fireplace. Lighting is by solar or paraffin. The Waterberg mountains are malaria free. Set departures for longer trails, over a week period, from camp to camp are available. Equus is about a three hour drive from Johannesburg.

Londolozi Private Game Reserve
Started in 1972, Londolozi is dedicated to high
quality personal service, luxury and the maintenance of biodiversity. Accommodation
for 48 people spans three luxurious camps overlooking the Sand River - the eight-bed
top-of-the-range Tree Camp, the secluded 16-bed Bush camp, and the 24-bed Main
camp. Each camp has its own private swimming pool and 'boma'. Famous for its
leopards, Londolozi offers game viewing by night as well as daytime.
Ngala Private Game Reserve
The 42-bed lodge has been designed to recreate
the romance and elegance of bygone Africa. Guests are able to explore 14 000
hectares of game country, which boasts one of the highest concentration of lion
and breeding herds of elephant in Southern Africa.
