Health requirements - Yellow Fever inoculations are necessary (this must be done no later than 10 days prior to departure). Anti-malaria tablets are also necessary. Please enquire for details of travel clinics operating in your area.

Visas - Should you be travelling on a South African passport you will need a visa for Tanzania. This takes approximately 3 working days and can be done at the Tanzania High Commission, 822 George Avenue, Arcadia, Pretoria, Tel: . We can arrange these for you or they can be done direct. You will need a valid Passport (your passport must have at least 3 blank pages), 2 passport photographs and 2 completed forms. Other nationalities please check with our office or the Tanzania High Commission. It is also possible to obtain a visa on arrival.

ITINERARY:

Day 8 - (Transfer from Moshi to Arusha. Afternoon free to look around this safari town and its markets, exchange travellers cheques, etc. Overnight at The Arusha Hotel (or similar) on a bed and breakfast basis. Dinner is for your own account.

Day 9 - Morning at leisure. At 14h00 you will be collected by your driver/guide and drive to Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions. Overnight - Manyara Serena Lodge

Day 10 - After breakfast depart on a morning tour of Lake Manyara National Park. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch drive to Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight. Overnight - Ngorongoro Serena / Sopa Lodge

Day 11 - After breakfast we descend steadily down the steep 610 metre sides of the crater from our lodge on the crater rim. A morning's game viewing in the crater is almost guaranteed to turn up four of the Big Five, as well as zebra, gazelle, warthog and a rich variety of birds, all viewed against the backdrop of the thickly forested crater walls. Return to the lodge for a late lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro.

Day 12 - Depart after breakfast with a picnic lunch and drive via Olduvai Gorge, viewing game en route to the Serengeti. It is at Olduvai Gorge where, in 1959, Mary Leakey made her groundbreaking discovery of a hominid (human-like) skull dating back 1.8 million years. Since then other hominid species, possibly our early ancestors, have been found in the area dating as far back as 3.7 million years. The whole area is often referred to as the 'cradle of mankind.' Dinner and overnight - Serengeti Serena / Sopa Lodge

Day 13 - In the morning a game drive followed by lunch. In the afternoon another game drive. Dinner and overnight at your Serengeti lodge.

Day 14 - Breakfast at leisure and proceed to Seronera airstrip for your flight to Arusha. Arrive Arusha and transfer to your hotel. Lunch and dinner in Arusha for own account. Overnight at The Arusha Hotel (or similar) on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 15 - Morning transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your homebound flight.
